On Saturday, May 19th the City Heights Farmers Market in partnership with the San Diego International Rescue Committee (IRC) hosted a “Crop Crawl.” Attendees learned about local fresh produce, had a community picnic-style meal from fresh ingredients and cultural cuisine (including a variety of empanadas from Spanglish Eats), met some food vendors from the market, and learned about the IRC’s micro-enterprise and food security programs.
This Farmers Market is one of the most culturally diverse markets in San Diego and is dedicated to the community by giving priority to City Heights residents and first-time business owners – just like us! We are proud to be part of this movement and to call City Heights our “home.”
Stay tuned for upcoming “Crop Crawls” and find us there every Saturday from 9-1. facebook.com/CityHeightsFarmersMarket.
